1 When can I register my child for the BSO?
You can register your child for the BSO one year before the start date. Parents of children who are already enrolled in day care with us, will receive an email approximately 2 months before their child’s 3rd birthday to survey the afterschool care. In this email you will find information about the different BSO’s and a link to the registration form.

2 How long does it take before I can get a place at the BSO and from what is the availability of places dependent?
In our organization the primary schools are coupled to a BSO location. For every school also an alternative location is available. This location will for instance be offered in case there are no places available at the first coupled location. Some locations can have a waiting list for some (popular) days. The waiting time for one location can be longer than for another location. Because we work with horizontal groups on most of our location (exceptions are BSO de Belhamel and BSO ‘t Kievitsnest) and a guaranteed flow within our organization to a 7+ and 10+ group, we are obliged to have a stable age structure in the groups. In case the days you wish for are not immediately available at the desired start date, this means that for the availability of places, we are dependent on the cancelations of children within the same year of birth. Because we use a term of notice of 1 month, you can probably understand that cancellations for far in the future are not known by us yet.

3 How is the age classification at the BSO groups?
Most BSO-groups are horizontal groups. Children start in a group ranging from 4 to 7 years of age, from which they go to a group for children from 7 to 10 years, and children who are 10 years and older move onto one of the teenager-groups. An exception to the rule are BSO ’t Kievitsnest and BSO de Belhamel. These are for children from 4 to 10 years of age.

4 Can I purchase extra days? See extra days BSO.

5 How is the transportation from school to the BSO arranged for? See transport.

6 In what way is the flow within the BSO arranged for? See to older groups.

7 How are the number of hours per month for the BSO calculated?

You have a full-service package:
Example number of hours one long afternoon
Your child receives care from 12.00 am until 6.15 pm, so 6,25 hours per day. This care is received for 52 weeks per year, which equals 325 hours (6,25 x 52) per year.
To estimate the total number of hours per year, we also have to take into account the extra hours during holiday-weeks and the school study days of the primary schools. These are the hours from 7.45 am to 12.00 am (4,25 hours per day).
Apart from the 12 holiday weeks, for each contract-day 2 school study days are included within the hourly calculation (in case there are going to be more than 2 school study days on your fixed care day, we will not charge any extra costs). This equals 59,5 (14 x 4,25) extra hours.
This brings us to a total of 384,5 hours per year, or 32,04 hours per month.

Example number of hours one short afternoon
Your child receives care from 15.00 pm to 18.15 pm, so 3,25 hours per day. This care is received for 52 weeks per year, which equals 169 hours (3,25 x 52) per year.
To estimate the total number of hours per year, we also have to take into account the extra hours during holiday-weeks and the school study days of the primary schools. These are the hours from 7.45 am to 3.00 pm (7,25 hours per day).
Apart from the 12 holiday weeks, for each contract-day 2 school study days are included within the hourly calculation (in case there are going to be more than 2 school study days on your fixed care day, we will not charge any extra costs). This equals 101,5 (14 x 7,25) extra hours.
This brings us to  a total of 270,5 hours per year, or 22,54 hours per month.

You have a 40 weeks package:
Example number of hours one long afternoon
Your child receives care from 12.00 am until 6.15 pm, so 6,25 hours per day. This care is received for 40 weeks per year, which equals 250 hours (6,25 x 40) per year, or 20,83 hours per month.

Example number of hours one short afternoon
Your child receives care from 3:00 pm to 6:15 pm, so 3,25 hours per day. This care is received for 40 weeks per year, which equals a total of 130 hours (3,25 x 40) per year, or 10,83 hours per month.
