1 How long is the waiting list for the day care?
All parents that register earlier than 5 months before the start date, will be put on the general waiting list. 4 to 5 months before the start date we will contact you and discuss the placement possibilities. We firstly have a look at the internal waiting list. The internal waiting list mostly consists of parents who want to expand the care or want to change care days. Whenever places are free, these parents (already our customers) have a priority over new parents. Also parents who enregister a second (or following) child, are placed on the internal waiting list. This makes it more likely that we can offer them a place at the same days and the same location as their other child(ren).
Hereafter, the subsequent places will be offered to new parents.
Whether there is a waiting list, is dependent of the difference between the places that become available and the number of parents on the waiting list. During some months more parents would like to start and less children flow out, resulting in the fact that parents who have registered last, have to wait a while before a place becomes available.
In case parents have one preference location and only would like to have care at certain days, there is a possibility that no children flow out at the desired location, at the wanted start date. Those parents will have to wait for a place, but maybe another parent can get a place at a different location. The waiting time is also dependent on the possibilities parents have to go to another location or to accept care on other days. Parents who enregister within 4 months before the start date, can only be placed in the places which are not yet filled during the monthly planning rounds. Whether these parents can be placed is, again, dependent on the care-needs of the respective parents. In case the needs do not meet the availability, then these parents will be placed on the waiting list. Whenever there is a waiting list, this is usually the case for Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. This applies for both the internal and the general (external) waiting list.
2 How quickly can my child start in case I urgently need a place?
In case a place is available, a child can start at the care approximately one month after registering. This is because of the administrative transaction and the planning of an acquaintance meeting. Whenever the child goes to the BSO, it also means we have to arrange the transportation from school to the after school care location. In case a child starts within a month, the placement agreement has to be signed at the Service Bureau before the start of the care.

You have a full service package:
Yes, you pay for the place, whether you use it or not.
You have a 40 weeks package:
Yes, the costs for the 40 weeks package are spread out over 12 months, resulting in the fact that you pay the same amount of money each month. This means that you also pay the monthly amount in for instance the month of July. In case you buy extra care days during the school holidays, these will be invoiced separately.

6 How can I discontinue a place (totally or partially) and what is the cancellation period?
For a (partial) discontinuation we have a term of notice of one month. You can cancel at each day of the month, for instance in case you discontinue the contract on May 7th, June 7th will be the last care day. Cancellations have to be done in writing at the Placement department, this can also be done by e-mail: mailto:email@example.com.
The term of notice is also applicable in case you want to change from a full service package to a 40 weeks package. Furthermore, changing from a full service package to a 40 weeks package (or the other way around) can only be done once a year.
7 Can I cancel a place temporarily?
No, in case you cancel/discontinue, you lose your current place and you will be put on the waiting list again. Whether there will be a place available, depends on the current waiting list and the period in which you would like to start again with the care.
